For stallion owners

Stand your stallion where mare owners are already looking.

A stud profile is free and takes about ten minutes. You set the fee for each covering method, decide how many mares you will take, and the booking fee sits in escrow until the terms you wrote are met.

Who is on the other side

The people you are standing him for.

A stud profile only earns its keep if mare owners see it. Three routes bring them to yours, and none of them charges you for the introduction.

The directory they search

Filters for breed, discipline, covering method, fee and distance from the mare. A mare owner narrows to the four studs that suit her mare instead of scrolling past ninety that do not.

Requests posted to the board

Mare owners write what they are looking for on the Wanted board, and matching pushes those requests to the studs that fit. The enquiry reaches you without anyone buying a lead.

Match my mare

A mare owner enters her mare's pedigree and what she wants to breed for, and gets a shortlist. Your stallion is on it only if the methods and the fee you set actually match what she asked for.

What you set

The season runs on your terms.

None of this is a default we picked for you. Each one is a field on your profile, and each can be changed after you publish.

Covering methods

Live cover, chilled, frozen, ICSI and embryo transfer. Offer any combination and price each one separately.

Fee per method

A single standing fee, or a different figure per method with a dose price and container deposit where those apply.

Season capacity

Cap the number of mares you will take. The profile shows what is left and stops accepting bookings when the season is full.

Release terms

Decide what the money turns on: covering completed, pregnancy confirmed, or a live foal. Escrow holds the fee until that milestone is recorded.

How the money moves

You stop chasing deposits.

The part of standing a stallion that goes wrong is rarely the covering. It is the mare owner who books in January, does not pay, and stops replying in March. Here the fee is committed before the mare travels.

  1. 01

    Enquiry

A mare owner sends her mare's details through your profile. Phone numbers and email addresses stay masked until you have both agreed to go ahead.

  2. 02

    Contract

A breeding contract is drawn from the template with your fee, method and release terms already filled in. Both sides sign in the browser.

  3. 03

    Escrow

The mare owner funds the fee before a dose ships or a mare travels. You can see that it is funded. Neither of you can move it yet.

  4. 04

    Covering

Shipping dates, dose timing and vet coordination run through messaging, so there is one timeline both sides can point at afterwards.

  5. 05

    Milestone

You mark the milestone the contract turns on — covered, confirmed in foal, or the foal on the ground.

  6. 06

    Release

The fee is released to your Stripe account. If the milestone is missed, the terms you both signed decide what happens next, rather than an argument over email.

Escrow will not make a mare conceive, and it cannot settle a disagreement about whether a stallion was fit to cover. It does one thing: it makes sure the fee exists and is committed before your stallion does the work, and it makes the terms you both signed the thing that decides where it goes.

What it costs

The profile is free. A fee lands only on a completed booking.

Creating and running a stud profile costs nothing — no listing fee, no subscription, no charge per enquiry. When a booking completes through escrow the platform fee comes out of your payout, and the mare owner pays a smaller share on top of your fee. Both figures are shown to both sides before anyone commits, and the current rates are always on the pricing page.

Ready when your season is

Put his card in front of the right mares.

About ten minutes to build the profile if you have his papers and a few photographs to hand. The fee, the methods and the season cap can all be edited afterwards.

Questions stallion owners ask

  • What does it cost to stand a stallion here?

Nothing to create the profile or to keep it up. There is no listing fee, no subscription and no charge per enquiry. A platform fee applies only when a booking completes through escrow: it comes out of your payout, and the mare owner pays a smaller percentage on top of your fee. Both are shown to both sides before anyone commits, and the current figures are on the pricing page.
  • Do I have to be a stud farm?

No. A private owner standing one stallion at home uses the same profile as a farm standing twelve. If you do run a business you can list it in the directory as well and link the two, but nothing requires it.
  • Does my stallion need to be licensed or approved?

Not to create a profile. But state plainly on it what he is: licensed with a studbook, approved for a particular breeding programme, or unapproved and standing to non-registered mares. A mare owner who discovers after the covering that the foal cannot be registered has lost a year, and that is the complaint that ends a stud's reputation. Approval rules differ by studbook and by country, so check yours before you describe him as approved.
  • How does a live foal guarantee work here?

You choose what the money releases on when you set the profile up: covering completed, pregnancy confirmed, or a live foal. If you offer a live foal guarantee, escrow holds the fee until that milestone is recorded rather than depending on you to refund afterwards. The guarantee and its terms are yours — the platform enforces what you wrote, it does not impose terms of its own.
  • Can he be for sale and standing at stud at the same time?

He can be listed both ways, but not committed both ways at once. When a sale escrow opens or an auction goes live on him, the breeding side freezes — still visible, but not taking new bookings — and it unfreezes when the sale ends. The same happens in reverse. It exists so that nobody books a season on a horse that is about to be sold out from under them.
  • How long does it take to get a profile up?

About ten minutes if you have his papers, a few photographs and his fee decided. Pedigree, performance record, notable get, covering methods and fee are all fields on the same form, and every one of them can be edited after you publish.
